For the most part I like to capture architecture in towns and cities. Interesting urban images are sometimes just capturing the beauty and interest that everyone sees day in day out. Other times with the use of light, shadows, angles and lines to capture architecture in towns and cities from a different point of view. Something striking.
Some ideas for interesting urban images
In all cases I think it works best early in the morning or late in the evening. When the sun is low and the colours richer. This is referred to as the golden hour. This helps give a warmer colour. There is more information about this in my blog post.
More ideas
Urban areas are often busy, with people and transport. You can get this activity across by a long exposure to capture the movement.
You may also fall into the trap of simply taking your shots standing up. Do not overlook the chance to take a shot from high up, even if just holding your camera above you head, or low down by crouching. This different view point creates interesting urban images.
